Staff members who have served on the council have expressed how the experience provided a great opportunity to meet staff members across the organization and feel a sense of fulfillment by positively impacting staff members throughout the organization.

“I wanted to serve in a capacity that could bring meaningful change to the lives of the staff here at UT Health San Antonio,” said Charles T. Phillips, IT project manager, Project Portfolio Management and Delivery.“As a [Staff Advisory Council] member, I have been able to work on initiatives that directly improve our organizational culture. The exposure and opportunity the SAC has provided me is unique and I highly recommend it to any staff member who desires to get out in the organization and network outside of their immediate area.”

Emme Lopez, senior librarian, said she was thoroughly enjoyed her membership on the council.

“I have met and worked with so many people across UT Health San Antonio that I would never have had the chance to get to know,” Lopez said. “I have a better understanding of how we all work together to support the institution’s mission and am proud to bring awareness to benefits that support staff and issues that affect staff.”
